Profiles in Legacy: Threads of Becoming is a collection of commissioned mixed-media portraits honoring individuals whose lives have shaped the people and communities around them. Each piece centers on the human form—in profile or silhouette—as a vessel for a larger story: roots reaching toward justice, golden leaves framing a life of healing, vines and florals grounding a legacy of compassion.
Working in sepia tones, coffee-stained hues, beadwork, and natural materials, these portraits move beyond likeness to capture essence—the partially formed alongside the fully realized, the personal woven into the historical. Each commission is both tribute and meditation, inviting viewers to consider their own roots, growth, and role in the legacies still being written.
